Courage!

"What makes a king out of a slave? Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage! What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist, or the dusky dusk? What makes the muskrat guard his musk? Courage! What makes the sphinx the seventh wonder? Courage! What makes the dawn come up like thunder? Courage! What makes the Hottentot so hot? What puts the "ape" in apricot? What have they got that I ain't got?"
~The Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz

Yep, courage! One Wacky Mom has gone award wacky and given me a Courageous Blogger Award. Why? Because I am courageous enough to stand up and, from behind the cover of a pseudonym, write with raw emotion and honesty about my life. Ok, anonymity may seem a little cowardly, but there is courage and then there is foolhardiness, right?

So, I'm going to courageously accept this second of my major awards, and put it up on my little sidebar award shelf. And I am also going to take it with me on my scary plane flight this week. Yes, I am not shitting you. I truly am. You just watch me; I'll even courageously post a picture. I wish I could have it made into a medal, like the Cowardly Lion's, so I could wear it. But even in non-medal form, I will bring it with me, and it will remind me that I'm strong.

Speaking of anxiety, I know when I'm anxious these days, I need to remember who's really in control. Let go and let G-d!
