Today, my daughter was building a "really tall tower out of Legos" when I offered her breakfast. She looked at me very seriously and said, "Mama, I'm busy. I can't have lunch until I'm done with my busy and stuff. I have a lot of work to do with Legos." [Editor's note: yes, she refers to all meals "lunch."]
Sometimes she's so cute I can't stand it.

Hah! My niece also does this weird adult thing...this, "No, I'm too busy over here with these toys to have a bath now. You'll have to check in with me later, and if I have time, I'll see what I can do for you."
My son and I were talking about beauty marks the other day, and how the're really just moles but people call them beauty marks.
He thougth for a moment and then asked, "Do I have handsome marks?"
I can't wait for my girls to start saying stuff like this! Very cute. Thanks for sharing.
When I have kids, I'm going to do everything in my power to make notes of all the cute things they say.
I LOVE stuff like this.
Their play really is their work.
And I could learn a thing or two about work being play.
your sweet baby, with the magical laugh!
My favorite is the words they use, all grown up like, wrong. Mine have been,
for remote control- reportable (cross between portable phone and remote- of course)
directions- constructions
ticket- tigit (I had to fight her eventually to convince her it was 'ticket')
use- loose (as in 'mommy can I loosed this?')
just to name a few. I let them say them for so long because I didn't want to stop hearing it
I thought of the sweet little laugh, too.
Love,
Scout
How sweet! The things kids say.
know the feeling . . .
How I miss having kids in my life. What a source of joy and inspiration.

my 3 1/2 year old son refers to every meal as dinner. he can never eat "dinner" because he is always too busy having star wars characters fighting spider-man guys on a g.i joe
helicopter...it's all very confusing but...back to my point..which was?
