I’m the Meme Queen

Ok, honestly, someday I will post something other than memes. But their ease and fun make them perfect for freeing up time for Thanksgiving pie making and blog redesigns, among other things. This meme comes to me from the witty and wonderful Maddy at Whitterer on Austism.

1. What were you afraid of as a child?
My father's anger.

2. When have you been most courageous?
Not walking out on my husband the night he told me he was a sex addict.

3. What sound most disturbs you?
My children's crying.

4. What is the greatest amount of physical pain you’ve been in?
Appendicitis. Worse than broken bones. Worse than labor pains. I'm going to have to warn my addict readers right now to skip to the next question -- because I'm going to say something you don't want to hear. Are you gone? Ok, I'll whisper this: Opiates totally rock! The ER docs gave me some morphine for that pain and it went from unbearable to annoying. Yes!

5. What’s your biggest fear for your children? (or children in general if you don’t have your own)
That they will live up to their genetic heritage and know the pain of addiction and/or depression.

6. What is the hardest physical challenge you’ve achieved?
Um, I don't generally physically challenge myself, at all, ever. I don't do aerobics, hike, bike, ski, run, roller blade, rock climb, play any kind of sports, swim (although I like to float) or anything else. There have been a few rash moments where I've signed up for gym membership or dance or martial arts classes, but I've dropped those so fast no one ever knew what I looked like. I like yoga because it's about listening to your body and not pushing it too far.

7. Which do you prefer: Mountains or oceans/big water?
OCEANS!

8. What is the one thing you do for yourself that helps you keep everything together?
Yoga.

9. Ever had a close relative or friend with cancer?
My father-in-law recently died of cancer. And I have had more other relatives and friends with cancer than I care to list.

10. What are the things your friends count on you for?
Listening to them when they have relationship troubles. You become a magnet for that when people know you're married to a sex addict.

11. What is the best part of being in a committed relationship?
Having someone who knows you intimately and accepts you as you are.

12. What is the hardest part of being in a committed relationship?
Accepting other people exactly as they are.

13. Summer or Winter? Why?
Summer. Bleh on cold! Bleh, I say!

14. Have you ever been in a school-yard fight? Why and what happened?
No. See does not engage in physical activity answer, above.

15. Why blog?
I love to write for an audience.

16. Did you learn about sex, and/or sex safety from your parents?
Yes.

17. How do you plan to talk to your kids about sex and/or sex safety?
Answer their questions in an age appropriate manner.

18. What are you most thankful for this year?
The same thing I'm most thankful for every year: my family and all of my wonderful friends.

I have to go clean up cat pee in the playroom, so I'm going to leave it to you to tag yourselves if you're interested again.

these memes can be so revealing, not just for the reader but for the author...not only do others get to know about "us" but we get to know ourselves.

Love the new design of the place.
And I'm so with you on loving getting to be accepted for exactly who you are and finding it to be the hardest challenge in relationships.
Let Todd be Todd. I say it countless times a day. Breathing deep.

Great meme! I learn so much about people through memes so I love that you do them a lot!

I so know what you mean about kitty pee too! We were gone for a few days over Thanksgiving and we came home to a real mess in our living room from an angry kitty! She hates to be left alone! Bad kitty!

I like Memes too :) I like this one, its original. I'm going to do it on my blog... but be patient, I've been a slacker blogger of late ;)

PS: And thanks for your comment... it made my night... it was the best moment of my day hands down.
